Interim President Selected
At the last WeCAB Umbrella Board meeting, I agreed to serve as the Interim Board President. The vacancy in the position occurred after President Susan Hoversten decided to step down from the WeCAB Umbrella Board. The Board wishes to thank Susan for her thoughtful and dedicated service to the WeCAB organization over the last year. Not only did Susan serve as the President, but she also volunteers as a driver and dispatcher. Thank you, Susan, and our very best wishes to you and your family.
WeCAB Executive Director to be Hired
The WeCAB Board of Directors is searching for a half-time salaried Executive Director (ED). The ED will serve as a contract employee. A small search committee is being formed and will be lead by Jackie Engel, who has served in this capacity for a number of companies and organizations. The Board’s goal is to have an ED in place no later than May 1, 2018. Please spread the word about this position. WeCAB Expansion
WeCAB recently began serving the areas of Mayer, New Germany and Watertown. The City of Waconia has a goal of joining the WeCAB program in May of 2018.
End of FY; Beginning of 2018 Fiscal Year
October 1 marked the beginning of WeCAB’s 2018 Fiscal Year. In FY 2017, WeCAB provided 2,293 rides and volunteer drivers drove 31,536 miles (1,710 hours). At FY year-end, WeCAB has 340 active registered riders; 45-50 unduplicated riders are served each month taking 200+ rides.
